Israeli Animation Mentor Gathering #4

Yesterday Gabi organized another successful AM meeting at a sushi restaurant in Tel Aviv. We were even honored by the appearance of Tim Crawfurd, master animator and totally cool guy, who is currently living in Israel and mentoring at AM. He showed us some amazing videos from his career at Pixar and his works as a student in Belgium.

It was fun meeting everyone once again and getting to know the fresh students, and I’m looking forward to the next gathering.

Some Poi action in Tel Aviv

Dan invited me to join him for a fire and poi gathering at The Tupim Beach in Tel Aviv a couple of weeks ago. Not a poi practitioner myself, I decided it’d be a good time to take some photos. I haven’t done that in a while, and as I’ve shown here before, I really like taking photos of people juggling. It’s a great opportunity to see what your camera’s capable of and what you can do with it. I’ve included here some of my favorite ones. For the rest of the photos go here.

Two dudes went into the water and juggled over there. Great reflections.

The 2nd Israeli Animation Mentor Gathering

What a great evening it was. Too bad not everyone could come. Unfortunately not everyone is in the animation business, too. The industry here is very slow. I hope next time we gather round more people will be in the business.
I should thank Gabi Berger for choosing the place (The lovely Goshen restaurant, Tel Aviv) and making all the arrangements.
Here’s a few photos I took.

Don’t forget to check out Ziv’s post. He writes about it better than me :P
