June 5th, 2009 was just another boring Friday afternoon which I’ve decided to spend on creating this little funny picture. I shot my Stormtrooper action figure in that singing in the rain pose and put him over Jean Kelly. The photo was first published in an earlier blog of mine on Tumblr and then rolled on all over the internet.
When I saw a link on Digg with a note that the source is unknown I’ve decided this image deserves a post here.

EDIT: I forgot I have already posted this photo a while back on this blog… so yeah.
This was quite a week. Lots of stuff to share. I hope it makes it up for last week’s very short list.
I’ll start with two fan films, one for Starcraft, the other for Star Wars.
Starcraft legacy: Starcraft First Contact
This one was made by Tractor Media, and it has everything a Starcraft cinematic has, from design to atmosphere.
“Judicator, call the fleet. There are Zerg here we must purge!”
Another fan flick, and this time: Star Wars
It doesn’t show much. Most of it is actually the titles. But it has a nice suspense feeling to it. Also the shot at the parking lot with the graffiti is really impressive. It’s something so alien to Star Wars, that kind of modern urban setting, and yet it works pretty well in this short trailer.
Andrew Bannecker
His innocent clean style frequently hides a darker side in his art. I really love this combination of vintage style (sometimes even kids drawings style) and a sinister underlying message. Sometimes not so underlying.
Platon
An amazing photographer, famous for his photos of politicians. He took photos of world leaders from all across the globe and made remarkable images.
How We Built Britain
A magnificent title sequence for the BBC TV documentary, showing Britian’s great landscapes with CG letters planted in them, each letter represents different architectural style.
French Roast This is the many awards winner short directed by Fabrice O. Joubert and produced by the Pumpkin Factory. I’ve been waiting for this French title to come out for some time now, and I must say I’m not disappointed. On the contrary! This is a typical French animation: great attention to the last detail and an emphasis on the Francois culture. It was . Most recommended. http://www.frenchroast.fr/watchfrenchroast.html
Waif of Persephone
Nick Cross has shared his 2006 short with the rest of the world for Christmas. He was an animator on Ren & Stimpy, among other things.
This one is a bit more advanced than the earlier one. I tried to make the SD look broken at the sides, so I squeezed in details from ruined buildings I found online.
